Start your training for a career in the healthcare
field. A critical shortage of skilled workers, and a
variety of employment opportunities, makes the
Professional Medical Careers program one of the
most sought after at New Market.
Are you interested in patient care as a nursing assistant,
chiropractor, dental hygienist, or dietitian? Maybe a
technical field like diagnostic imaging, medical records,
or environmental health is more to your liking? New
Market’s Professional Medical Careers program can
get you started on these careers and many others. It
capitalizes on a partnership with Providence St. Peter
Hospital, providing instruction grounded in the
realities of working in the healthcare field.
A basic technical core will introduce you to the
medical field, placing emphasis on basic patient
care skills that apply to many medical occupations.
Explore medical careers in your field of interest, as
well as in targeted high demand fields. Participate
in job shadowing and rotate through clinical* sites,
developing a lifelong professional foundation in
which to build upon.
With successful completion of the program, you’ll
exit Professional Medical Careers ready for certification,
employment and higher level training. You
may secure a job with a local hospital or care facility,
and/or attend a community or four-year college to
complete a health/medical degree.
* Own transportation required for clinicals.
